JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is “bummed” work commitments kept him from scaling Mount Kilimanjaro in January (10) – because he was looking forward to the trek.
Timberlake and rapper Kenna came up with the idea of a celebrity trek up the African peak last year (09), and set about recruiting stars for the challenge.
but coordinating everybody’s schedules proved difficult – and the SexyBack singer pulled out of the charity mission to film upcoming movie The Social Network.
He kept up with the team’s progress daily – and is proud of pal Kenna, girlfriend Jessica Biel and the other celebrities’ efforts to reach the top of the peak.
He tells MTV.com, “I was getting sort of a texting diary from day to day. and the one thing I heard was the hardest part was the last day because not only were they climbing from 16,000 to 19,000 feet, but that extra 3,000 was really brutal, because of the altitude.
“I heard from all of them that the last 3,000 feet, every breath counted. Every single time you could conserve oxygen, you could feel it. it really counted. … I’m in awe that they did it. I’m really impressed.
“I was bummed that I wasn’t able to do it, because I thought it would be a cool thing to do. Maybe one day I will. but it’s really an inspiring idea and an inspiring task, and I was very proud of everyone who was involved with it. it says a lot about all the people who were involved in the climb, that they were sort of willing to put themselves out there.”

A picture is worth a thousand words. Justin Bieber, who turns 16 today, had trouble keeping his eye on the ball at the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets game at L.A.’s Staples Center on Sunday (Feb. 28). The ladies man sat courtside with Sean Kingston, who he collaborated with on a song called “Eenie Mini” for J.B.’s My World 2.0 album.

The demands of Justin Bieber's fanbase have been answered by the producers of "Saturday Night Live." Fans of the Canadian heartthrob launched a Twitter campaign, @BieberOnSNL, to get the teen phenomenon on the show, and it quickly amassed 2,600 followers. It also saw its mission realized; the pop star will be the late-night comedy show's musical guest on April 10.
Justin Bieber is preparing to release a new album titled "My World 2.0" in the U.S. on March 23. After collaborating with rapper Ludacris and joining forces with reggae fusion singer/MC Sean Kingston, Justin Bieber is now longing to make a duet with Lil Wayne. "I want to work with Lil Wayne...once he gets out of jail," he told E! News during an event at Northview High School in Covina, California.
The pop phenomenon didn't mention which songs he might perform on the show, but he did mention that he already had a special guest in mind for his big debut: "Me and Chuck Norris should do SNL together," he wrote. "That would be good. Very good."
Bieber's "SNL" appearance comes shortly after the March 23 release of My World 2.0, the follow-up to his 2009 album My World. Bieber recently sang the opening line in the Haiti-benefiting remake of "We Are The World," and he just released the video for My World 2.0's first single, "Baby."
MTV News was on set with Bieber when he shot the clip, which features cameos by Drake and Ludacris. "It starts off, I really like this girl, but we didn't [get] along; we couldn't be together," he said.
"Basically I want her back and [I'm] kind of going through the whole thing. I'm chasing her around, trying to get her, and she's kind of playing hard to get, but I'm persistent. I keep going."
There is chance that Justin's duet wish could come true as Weezy himself has given a shoutout to the young Canadian pop sensation during a Ustream session on Young Money's artist Lil Twist's site. The rap mogul apparently has recognized that Justin fever already swept the country and he could be the next big thing in music industry.
