Bret Michaels remains in critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage that has confined him to the Intensive Care Unit since Thursday. According to a Sunday update on the Poison frontman's official site, Michaels is under 24-hour medical supervision. At the moment, the 47-year-old Celebrity Apprentice star is undergoing tests to locate the source of the bleeding. Once that happens, doctors can take the next step and perform an operation.

Although Michaels' condition is extremely serious, friends say that the jovial rocker is still acting like himself. TMZ reported on Friday that Michaels is "awake, in good spirits and talking," according to his band mates and Rock of Love pals (including ex-girlfriend Ambre Lake). On Saturday, Michaels' father Wally Sychak spoke to RadarOnline, saying that he'd spoken to Bret that morning, and although the musician was under sedation, "he sounded upbeat and positive... He sounded like my son."

Sychak also confirmed what many had suspected: the brain hemorrhage is most likely related to Michaels' type 1 diabetes (as was his recent emergency appendectomy). The "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" singer has been very open about his diabetes, and has raised $100,00 for the American Diabetes Association so far on Celebrity Apprentice.
