Carla Moran

Carla Moran is the name given to a character in the early eighties movie which went by the title of “The Entity.” When one thinks of ghosts and their reality in this dimension, one is often left with skepticism for there hasn’t ever been proper evidence provided behind the existence of ghosts. The story of Carla Moran has changed this notion amongst many people who wanted to believe in the paranormal but haven’t been able to convince their logical mind of such occurrences.

Going by the real name of Doris Bither, Carla Moran was a Californian citizen born in the year of 1939 in the city of Culver. From the decade of the seventies and onwards, Carla Moran has claimed that her house was often visited by ghosts who assaulted her and committed acts of rape against her. At first she though that she might be suffering from a disease of a psychotic nature that made her believe these “ghosts” were real and so she got in touch with two doctors who were doing exploration in the field of Parapsychology. These two doctors then went to assess the situation of Carla Moran at her house and took quite a number of Polaroid pictures from their cameras.

Doctor Kerry Gaynor and Doctor Berry Taff were surprised by their findings after they took pictures of the areas of the room where the ghosts were present. These pictures would come out underdeveloped in the areas where the ghosts were present, often representing that area of the photo as blank. Though the frequency of the paranormal activities in Carlas’ decreased after the two doctors had made their visits, she was still assaulted from time to time and she later shifted to the state of Texas.

The movie that has inspired the creation of a cult was not just fiction, or so it is believed. “The Entity” a horror flick that was released in the early eighties is supposed to be based on a real life story. The character of Carla Moran is not just made up, some believe, but the gruesome history of a Californian citizen who had her house in the city of Culver. Carla Moran was the character in the movie who was repeatedly assaulted and raped by members of the unseen dimension – we call them ghosts.

Carla Moran was born in the annum of 1939 and her real name is Doris Bither. She was a mother of four who later shifted to Texas after having had enough of her traumatizing experiences with ghosts. When the incidents first started happening in the seventies Carla Moran was of the view that she might be suffering from a mental illness that made her see all these beings. She says that there were a total of twelve ghosts who made appearances, usually in threesomes, and were ruled by one entity who was more dominant and powerful than the rest.

When she first suffered from these paranormal assaults she got in touch with two doctors, Doctor Berry Taff and Doctor Kerry Gaynor who were doing research in Parapsychology by studying seemingly haunted houses. They later wrote a book on their experience at the Moran house where the got the chance to take a few pictures, from their Polaroid cameras, of the ghosts. The pictures, it was revealed, would come out as blank in the spots that the ghosts were reported to be. After the visit by the doctors the occurrences lessened in frequency but still happened which led Carla Moran to shift houses.
