The Oscars also known as the Academy Awards are held every year to honor the great work done in the movie industry. The first Academy Awards were held in 1929 in Hollywood. The achievements made in the year 1927-8 were awarded for their great work. The awards are given to the actors, writers and directors. An official red carpet is also set before the ceremony of the Oscars begins. The awards are aired from the Kodak theatre. It is going to be the 82nd annual Academy Awards. Oscars 2010 date and time will be on seventh March 2010.
A mystery prevails among the people because the two best nominated movies this year for Academy Awards (Oscars) the Avatar and the hurt locker are head to head for the award. Last year the movie Slumdog Millionaire which was a big hit not only in the U.S. but also throughout the world won the Academy Awards (Oscars).
The 2010 Oscars will be hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Oscars 2010 date and time is set in the first quarter of the year. If you are one of the many people that have been waiting for the 2010 Oscars to air, then you really don’t have to wait too long now as the 82nd Academy Awards is only hours away. And as you can imagine, fans are eagerly waiting to see who takes home the awards tonight.
Now if you have been wondering what time the ceremony actually kicks off, then we can answer that for you right now. According to gather.com, the 2010 Oscars begin at 8pm EST/5pmPST with the red carpet special. This gives fans a chance to see all the stars’ chosen outfits.
That is then followed by the awards show at 8:30pm. There is also said to be a Barbara Walters interview special airing at 7pm EST, which will feature Sandra Bullock and Mo’Nique. The Oscars 2010 – hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin – will be airing on ABC.
This year, the Best Picture category will feature a whopping 10 nominees, including “Avatar,” “Blind Side,” “The Hurt Locker,” and “Up in the Air.” It is really uncertain which movie will take home the award tonight, but some say it will be between “Avatar and “The Hurt Locker.”
Among the actors and actresses that have been nominated for their work are Morgan Freeman, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges, who has apparently been put down as the favorite to take home the Oscar for Best Actor this year.
